研究方向

我們研究的內容以植物與微生物間交互作用為主,主要包括的研究方向:一、植物內生菌促進作物生長之機制研究;二、農桿菌分子致病機制之研究

一、植物內生菌促進作物生長之機制研究

全球氣候變遷造成機端氣候之產生,因全球氣溫的增加造成缺水及土壤鹽化情形加劇。經濟作物生長因各式非生物性逆境影響使作物產量降低。植物內生菌存在且生活於植物體內,可自表面消毒後之植物組織中分離出,不會造成植物有明顯地病徵。使用植物內生菌幫助作物生長和抵抗非生物性逆境,已成為新興的替代方案。藉由分離及分析具有功能性的植物內生菌,我們能更加瞭解植物內生菌與植物間交互作用,並於未來能擴大植物內生菌之應用,並且提升經濟作物在面對全球氣候變遷中抵抗逆境之潛力。

二、農桿菌分子致病機制之研究

農桿菌(Agrobacterium tumefaciens)具有獨特的能力,可藉由菌體內的Virulence (Vir)蛋白質的協助,將Ti質體(tumor-inducing plasmid)上一段轉移DNA (transfer-DNA、T-DNA)轉移並嵌入至植物染色體中,最後在植物細胞中表現T-DNA中的外來基因。使用農桿菌轉殖植物,再搭配植物組織培養之技術,已成為現今常用於生產轉殖植物與基因改良作物之主要方法。藉由分析參與農桿菌致病過程之植物與農桿菌之基因功能,我們可以更加瞭解農桿菌之致病過程,也可將此知識進一步應用於提高農桿菌轉殖植物的效率和相關農業生技產業。
